How to Reduce Your Digital Carbon Footprint: 5 Simple Habits

By enabling Dark Mode system-wide, you can reduce your device's power usage by up to 30%, meaning you won't have to charge it as frequently. Additionally, lowering your screen brightness slightly and setting your device to enter "Sleep Mode" quickly when idle helps preserve both battery health and electricity.

5. Extend Device Lifespan and Recycle e-Waste

The majority of a smartphone or laptop’s lifetime carbon emissions occur during its manufacturing phase, not its daily use. Mining rare minerals and assembling sophisticated microchips are highly carbon-intensive and toxic processes.

Take care of its battery by avoiding overcharging, and repair minor damages like cracked screens instead of buying a brand-new model.
